  • Eating small meals can help combat the heartburn problem. Increasing the number of times you eat and decreasing the quantity of food you take in every time, will hardly be a problem if you are going through morning sickness. Eating in small quantities will reduce the bloated feeling. Try to go for 5 to 6 smaller meals instead of the three square meals per day. Resorting to this routine, you can easily get rid of heartburn.
  • Eat in a relaxed way. Chewing your food properly can lead to better digestion and cut down overeating.
  • You can also go for liquid intake in between meals rather than sipping while you are bolting down your main course.
  • Do not straight go to sleep after a meal. Instead do a little house chores, or take a brisk walk. You can also sit while reading or browsing or do some work you might prefer to do. Avoid work that needs you to bend over. Because those kinds of activities can cause the acid to flow back, up into the oesophagus.
  • Also remember not to eat just before heading to bed. Give some time for the food to digest before activities like resort to lying down or go to sleep, after about 2 to 3 hours, you have had your lunch or dinner. Also avoid the intake of greater amounts of liquid before bedtime.

  • You can also put on some loose fitting clothes, as the tight clothing can pressurize your previously crammed abdomen and worsen the acid reflux. Some loose fitting maternity wear easily available in the market nowadays, can stamp out the heartburn.
